PM Shehbaz summons federal cabinet meeting to discuss economic situation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has summoned the federal cabinet meeting to be held today (Tuesday) in Islamabad to discuss economic and political situation in the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will preside over the federal cabinet meeting to be held at the Prime Minister’s office at 10:30am. The cabinet will discuss a five-point agenda during the meeting.

According to sources, a directory report on retirement will be presented in the cabinet meeting while the meeting will give approval to the issuance of honorary note on the 75th anniversary of Pakistan.

The cabinet will be briefed on the situation of imports, exports and trade balance in the country. Sources further informed that the cabinet will also review software export and IT growth rate.

The cabinet will also ratify the decisions of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC).

CM Sindh angry at police officers due to Karachi blast

After the third incident of terrorism in Karachi, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed anger over the police officers and hinted at taking action against them for non-performance.

After the bomb blast in in Kagzi Bazaar near Boltan Market, the Chief Minister summoned Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Nabi Memon, Additional IG Special Branch Javed Odho and Imran Yaqub to CM House. During the meeting, the Chief Minister was briefed on the incident.

Murad Ali Shah said that the third incident of terrorism shows that terrorists are mobilizing. Police and intelligence agencies should step up their intelligence work and added that I need that immediate results should be given against terrorism.

He said that action will be taken against the police officials for non-performance. He added that the city and its citizens would not be made hostage under any circumstances.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has summoned a special meeting over law and order situation in the province. The meeting will be held at 12:00noon and the Chief Minister House.

Four new COVID-19 cases reports in Balochistan in last 24 hours

At least four more persons were tested positive for coronavirus in Balochistan on Sunday. The new cases were reported in provincial capital Quetta.

According to Balochistan Health Department, this is the first time in a month and a half that four cases of coronavirus have been reported in a single day.

Balochistan Health Department also informed that there are 5 active coronavirus cases in the province. Moreover, COVID Positivity Ratio on Sunday was recorded at 2.04 percent in the province.

Economic packages, Nawaz Sharif telephoned the leaders of the coalition parties

Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif telephoned the leaders of the coalition parties on Sunday to take them into confidence over the decisions of PML-N regarding electoral reforms.

According to details, Nawaz Sharif contacted Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal on phone to take then into confidence over the decisions of PML-N regarding electoral reforms.

According to sources, talks were also held on providing relief to the people and limiting subsidies on different commodities. The leaders of the coalition parties also informed Nawaz Sharif of their stance on the issues.

On the other hand, Nawaz Sharif has also directed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take all allies into confidence over various issues. The Prime Minister is also expected to address the nation within next two days.
