PM Shehbaz leaves for London to meet Nawaz Sharif

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has left for London on Wednesday to meet Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif.

Along with the PM, several federal ministers including Ahsan Iqbal, Miftah Ismail, Ayyaz Sadiq, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Khawaja Saad Rafique and Khawaja Asif who flew in Wednesday wee hours.

As per details, the party will be discussing about the economic situation and different affairs of the country.

Last month, the PML-N supreme had a meeting with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal-Bhutto Zardari.

Meanwhile in a statement earlier on Tuesday, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif said that the country will completely get rid of former PM and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan in the next elections.

Talking to media in London, Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has ruined our national culture and Pakistan is witnessing such culture for the first time in 70 years.

The PML-N supremo further said that Imran Khan s government has created political, economic, financial, constitutional and social crisis in the country.

Nawaz went on to say that the PTI government has created a crisis from head to toe, adding that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will arrive in London on Wednesday and a range of issues will be discussed in the meeting.

Investors think unlikely Musk buys Twitter at agreed $44 bln price

The stock market took the view for the first time on Tuesday that it was unlikely that Elon Musk will acquire Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) for $44 billion, as he originally agreed.

The implied probability of the deal closing at that price fell below 50% when Twitter shares hit $46.75, based on the $54.20 deal price and Twitter’s shares having closed at $39.31 on April 1, the last trading day before Musk revealed he had amassed a stake in the social media company.

Twitter shares fell as much as 3% to touch a low of $46.50 in afternoon trading.

Musk, the world’s richest person and also the chief executive of electric car maker Tesla Inc (TSLA.O), on April 25 clinched a deal to buy the social media platform. read more Twitter said at the time that Musk secured $25.5 billion of debt and margin loan financing and was providing a $21 billion equity commitment.

Musk, who is worth $268 billion according to Forbes, had said he was not primarily concerned with the economics of Twitter.

"Having a public platform that is maximally trusted and broadly inclusive is extremely important to the future of civilization. I don’t care about the economics at all," he said in a recent public talk.

PSX witnesses bullish trend, gains 111 points

The KSE 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bullish trend on Tuesday, gaining 111.22 points, with a positive change of 0.26 percent, closing at 43,504.36 points against 43,393.14 points on last few days.

A total of 233,857,431 shares were traded during the day compared to the trade of 305,207,779 shares the previous day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs6.864 billion against Rs9.238 billion on last trading day.

As many as 346 companies transacted shares in the stock market,155 of them recorded gain and 168 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 23 companies remained unchanged.

The three top trading companies were Cnergyico Pak with a volume of 19,092,200 shares and price per share of Rs5.69, Pak Refinery with a volume of 13,867,000 and price per share of Rs 15.01 and Pak Int. Bulk with volume of 13,196,000 and price per share of Rs6.15.

Colgate Plam witnessed a maximum increase of Rs146.86 per share, closing at Rs2,197.86 whereas the runner up was Nestle Pakistan, the share prices of which
climbed up by Rs93.76 to Rs5,800.01

Bata (Pak) witnessed maximum decrease of Rs159.92 closing at Rs2,080 followed by Unilever Foods XD, the share price of which declined by Rs213 to close at Rs25,000.

Imran Khan ousted constitutionally, says Bilawal

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday while rejecting the former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s stance on conspiracy said he was ousted through democratic conspiracy. PTI government was removed constitutionally.

A meeting of PPP ministers in the federal cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in which PPP chairperson was briefed on the future plans and performance of their respective departments.

PPP chairperson directed them to show no negligence in solving the problems of people and said that you have to solve the issues being faced by public due to the incompetence of the previous government.

He criticized the previous PTI led government terming it to be incompetent and illegitimate and further expressed that I am well aware that Imran Khan’s incompetent government has left a heap of problems for people.

Bilawal urged the ministers to convey the message to public that PPP’s politics is based on service through their role and efficient work. Every minister of PPP is bound to solve the problems of every Pakistani without any discrimination, he added.

Talking to reporters at the Parliament House, he said that whoever violates the constitution should be prosecuted under Article 6, adding that whatever PTI members did from April 3 to 10 and afterwards is tantamount to violating the constitution.

We are proud of our constitution, said Bilawal.

The Foreign Minister said that his visit to the United States at this time was not a definitive plan. PPP had several power projects in the country under the Pak-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) but Imran Khan’s incompetent government destroyed our power projects, he continued saying.

Oil agency blast in Sheikhupura, Two brothers among seven killed

A three-storey building collapsed in a blast in an illegal oil agency on Tuesday in which seven people were killed including two brothers.

In Sheikhupura’s Jhabran Mandi area, an explosion took place at an illegal oil agency and thousands of litres of petrol tankers lying in the basement of the agency caught fire and a three-storey building collapsed.

As a result of the collapse of the building, 7 people including 2 brothers were killed and 4 others seriously injured while 4 rescue vehicles and 5 ambulances rushed to the spot immediately after the incident.

The injured were shifted to DHQ hospital and the heavy missionary started removing debris.

According to eyewitnesses, the blast was so powerful that the windows of nearby buildings were shattered and a petrol pump was blown up, killing a passerby on the spot.

Among those killed in the accident were Owais, Junaid, Zohaib and Samar. Rashid Mughal, are included.

On the other hand, there are hundreds of such illegal oil agencies are in the city but the district administration is unable to take any action against them.
