Highest level of inflation is evidence of the destruction of the economy: Shahbaz Sharif
Pakistan Muslim League-N President and Leader of opposition Shahbaz Sharif warned the nation that 11.5% inflation per month is a proof of economic destruction, people are committing suicide due to inflation and unemployment whereas rulers are urging them not to panic.

In a statement, Shahbaz Sharif said that inflation reaching the highest level of the year is an evidence of the doom and destruction of the economy for the poor, inflation has reached a 13-year high record, people are burning in the fire of inflation however government statements will not extinguish this fire.

While commenting on the current inflation situation he said that the account deficit is constantly increasing. Moreover, the account deficit for the current financial year released in July-October has reached to $5.1 billion.

Inflation has affected salaried employees: Sheikh Rasheed
FSheikh Rashid on Wednesday has said that new elections in Pakistan will be held through electronic voting machines.

Talking to media, the minister hoped that there will be no complain of rigging in elections carried out by using EVMs. Now, the decision is of opposition whether it will approach court or not, he added.

Sheikh Rashid said that increasing inflation has affected salaried employees.

We have to find out some solution to overcome the crises in Pakistan, he expressed.

LHC said that smog has engulfed Lahore; however, the court lauded role of Lahore Traffic Police for its good management of traffic in the city.On the other hand, provincial capital of Punjab has been declared the most polluted city globally.

The Air Quality Index data was released on Wednesday and put Lahore on the list of the most polluted cities in the world while Karachi came in seventh.

Meanwhile, PM2.5 concentration in Lahore air was 46.3 times above the WHO annual air quality guideline value.

The worst quality of air was recorded in Kot Lakhpat as AQI reached 479, followed by Bahria Orchard 407, Model Town 396, Gulberg 368 and Township Block Two at 364.

Pakistan records 414 coronavirus cases, 9 deaths in 24 hours
Pakistan has reported 9 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,285,254. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 28,737 on Wednesday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 414 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 13,027 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 7,621 in Sindh 5,846 in KP, 955 in Islamabad, 742 in Azad Kashmir, 360 in Balochistan, and 186 in GB.
