3rd T20: Bangladesh win toss, elect to bat against Pakistan

Bangladesh on Monday have won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan in third and last Twenty20 of three match series in Dhaka.

Pakistan have included former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shahnawaz Dahani (debut), Iftikhar Ahmed and Usman Qadir in playing XI for the last match in place of Fakhar Zaman, Shoaib Malik, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shadab Khan.

Earlier, Fakhar Zaman hit a half-century and Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shadab Khan claimed two wickets each on Saturday as Pakistan beat Bangladesh by eight wickets to seal the three-match, T20 International series 2-0.

Fakhar Zaman struck an unbeaten 57 off 51 balls as Pakistan reached 109-2 in 18.1 overs after restricting Bangladesh to 108-7 in 20 overs.

Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan claimed two wickets each as Pakistan restricted Bangladesh to just 108-7.

Playing his first match of the series, Shaheen finished with 2-15 and Shadab grabbed 2-22 as Bangladesh struggled against Pakistan’s quality pace and spin bowling.

The hosts elected to bat first at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium but lost both their openers in the first two overs.

Najmul Hossain top-scored with 40 off 34 balls while Afif Hossain chipped in with 20 runs from 21 balls.

League leader Maryam Aurangzeb tweeted on the social networking website, "Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz sentence has ended on every scale of justice, US Company scientifically identified the voice, US Company confirmed that voice is of Saqib Nisar. Saqib Nisar’s deeds are prominent now. Hiding sins with an excuse is a bigger sin.”

She claimed that Shahbaz Gill confirmed Saqib Nisar’s leaked tape was fabricated but he is habitual of apologizing after giving false news in the first place.

“If you want to talk about audio video then first of all talk about Qayyum Malik. The way Muslim League N was blamed and shamed in Qatari letter, same thing will happen again,” she remarked.

Corona claims 3 more lives, nationwide fatalities jumped to 28,663

Pakistan has reported 3 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,282,195. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 28,663 on Monday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 322 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 12,999 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 7,611 in Sindh 5,816 in KP, 952 in Islamabad, 741 in Azad Kashmir, 358 in Balochistan, and 186 in GB.

3rd T20I: Pakistan eye clean sweep against Bangladesh

The Pakistan cricket team will be eyeing a clean sweep against hosts Bangladesh today as the two sides meet yet again in the third and final match of the T20 series today.

Bangladesh's bowling line-up have troubled the Pakistani batters but their insipid batting has failed them and helped the Men in Green win the series.

Pakistan, 2-0 up, will be comfortable heading into today's match but skipper Babar Azam will be looking to continue the side's winning momentum.

Skipper Babar Azam has failed to find his form in the T20 series against Bangladesh so far, failing to score big on both previous occasions.

Today's match will be an opportunity for Pakistan to play Iftikhar Ahmed, Shahnawaz Dahani and Usman Qadir. While Iftikhar had not been included in the T20 World Cup squad, Qadir and Dahani had not played in any of Pakistan's six T20 World Cup encounters.

Iftikhar may be included in former Pakistan captain and veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik's place, who will not be featuring in the playing XI squad today as his son has fallen ill.

Pakistan's bowlers have so far impressed in the series, with Hasan Ali doing the trick in the first T20 with three wickets while Shaheen Afridi took up the baton in the second T20, when Hasan was rested, and managed to rattle the Bangladeshi batters.

Pak vs Ban: Shoaib Malik leaves pakistan team squad due to son Izhaan's illness

Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik will not play today’s match and will leave the squad to see his son, who is ill, in Dubai.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in a statement today (Monday) confirmed that Shoaib Malik will not be available for the third T20I match against Bangladesh.
Iftikhar Ahmed will most likely replace him in the playing XI. PSL star Shahnawaz Dahani is also expected to make his debut today.
The former Pakistan captain will depart for Dubai at 10:00am local time.
