Country’s future is linked to the fair democracy practices: PM Imran
Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Wednesday has said that he has no personal interest behind legislation regarding electoral reforms.

Talking to media, the premier said that country’s future is linked to the fair democracy practices. You will play very important role in holding transparent and rigging-free elections, he stated to media personnel.

The PM said that overseas Pakistanis are backbone of country’s economy and they also have right to participate in election process. Overseas voting and electronic voting machines (EVMs) are essential for country and democracy, he added.

Imran Khan further said that he is aware of the problems being faced by the Parliament members.

Dengue claims five more lives in Punjab
Novel Dengue has claimed four more lives in Punjab today as 274 more tested positive for the virus in the province.

According to details, out of the five victims of the virus, four were from Lahore while one was resident of Vehari. So far, 100 people have lost their lives to the virus in Punjab.

111 citizens have been diagnosed with the dengue fever in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 24 hours. So far, nine people have lost their lives in the province.

Both the government and joint Opposition are ready to flex their muscles in today’s joint session of Parliament convened as the ruling party appears confident for the passage of all its bills after getting the support of its allies.

The joint session has been summoned by President Arif Alvi today at 12pm.
he government eyes passing more than two dozen bills with the help of its allied parties, while the opposition parties have vowed to foil the treasury’s attempt to get ‘the black laws’ passed at all costs.

The bills to be taken up for passage were referred to the joint sitting by the National Assembly after those were not okayed within the stipulated 90 days.

Sindh relaxes COVID-19 restrictions for weddings, markets
The Government of Sindh has decided to further relax COVID-19 restrictions in the province, a notification from the Sindh Home Department said Tuesday.

Per the notification, the wedding venues will now be allowed to host 500 people for indoor events, while 1,000 individuals will be permitted to attend outdoor events.

The notification further clarified that only fully vaccinated individuals will be allowed to attend both indoor and outdoor events.

Aside from wedding halls, the home department said markets will remain open until 10pm from now on, while shrines will also remain open.

The new relaxed rules will stay in place until November 30.

It should be recalled that on September 3, the home department had imposed new restrictions in Karachi and Hyderabad related to wedding venues in line with the directives of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

At that time, outdoor wedding events were not allowed to have more than 300 guests, while events had to be wound up by 10pm.
