UK Home Office turns down Nawaz Sharif’s stay extension request
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s visa to the United Kingdom remains valid but his application for extension in stay has been turned down by the Home Office with the right to appeal against the Home Office decision.

Hussain Nawaz Sharif confirmed here that Nawaz Sharif’s extension in stay application has been rejected but an appeal has already been lodged at the Immigration Tribunal.

A Home Office source said that Nawaz Sharif has been given extension in stay since his arrival in the UK under two years ago but the source didn’t specify how many times he had been given extension and why the same refused this time.

Hussain Nawaz said: “While rejecting the application, the Home Office allowed the right to appeal and the process has already started. We are confident that the Immigration Tribunal will grant extension to Nawaz Sharif taking into consideration all the facts.”

NEPRA Approves reduction in fuel adjusment charges for August
National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Friday has announced to reduce fuel adjustment charges for the month of August 2021.

According to a notification issued by the power regulatory body, Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) sought a reduction in fuel adjustment charges by 19 paisas per unit.

The NEPRA said that it held a public hearing on fuel charges adjustment (FCA) on 28 July 2021 and later approved a reduction in charges by 19 paisas per unit. The reduction will only be applicable for the month of August 2021.
The power regulatory authority announced that the reduction in charges will not be applicable for K-Electric consumers and the industrial consumers who are already taking benefit from the Industrial Support Package.

Last month, National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) had announced to provide relief to the power consumers in the utility bill of August in terms of fuel adjustment charges.

OIC delegation leaves for AJK to vistit line of control
A 13-member delegation of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) left for Muzaffarabad to visit the Line of Control (LoC) for monitoring of the on-ground situation.

As per details, the IPHRC delegation will meet President Azad Kashmir Masood Khan, Hurriyat leaders and will also interact with the victims of Indian atrocities along the Line of Control.

The delegation includes members from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Morocco, Malaysia, Nigeria, Uganda and other countries.
The visit coincides with the completion of two years of India’s illegal steps of August 5.

Talking to the media Dr Eden Safi Khanli of Azerbaijan said they are going to meet Kashmiris to give a message that they are not alone. He regretted over Indian decision of not allowing them to visit the occupied Kashmir.

On the other hand, the Indian government has not allowed the OIC team to visit occupied Kashmir in a bid to hide the real facts and plight of the Kashmiris.

National Security Adviser (NSA) Moeed Yusuf has said that Pak-US relations are heading in the right direction, reported.

Yusuf through his official Twitter handle said that he has concluded a constructive US visit and held important meetings with his US counterpart Jake Sullivan and other officials.
The NSA said that the ties between both Pakistan and the United States are moving in the right direction and the focus of both sides is on the outcomes now.
In his presser in Washington, NSA Moeed Yusuf had said that this time there are no secret arrangements with the US like in the past.

Yusuf had said Pakistan is looking forward to the leadership role of the US in Afghanistan and noted the only way forward in the developing situation there is a political settlement. He had clarified that Pakistan is not extending its bases to the US and shunned the theories of any secret US-Pak accords.
