EFFORTS ON TO SOW SEEDS OF DISCORD BETWEEN PAKISTAN, CHINA: RASHEED

EFFORTS ON TO SOW SEEDS OF DISCORD BETWEEN PAKISTAN, CHINA: RASHEED
Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed on Tuesday said that efforts are underway to create misunderstanding between all-weather friends Pakistan and China, reported.

Addressing a press conference in Rawalpindi, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed said that the investigation into the Dasu bus tragedy has been completed and China is satisfied with it.
Dasu tragedy happened a day before the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) meeting, he added. The minister said Israel, India along the anti-Pakistan lobby have waged hybrid war against Islamabad.

Commenting on the alleged abduction of Afghan’s envoy daughter, Interior Minister said that the envoy’s daughter went to Khadda Market and then reached Rawalpindi and Daman-e-Kooh. She kept using the internet and when she gave her phone for investigation, it was completely wiped out.

“All four taxi drivers have no criminal record and are clear,” he said and added that Islamabad has completed its investigation into the matter and hoped that daughter of the Afghan envoy Najibullah Alikhil will soon be part of the investigation.

Replying to a query, Sheikh Rashid said that Pakistan’s desire for peace and stability in Afghanistan and whatever the Afghans will decide will be endorsed by Pakistan. He said Pakistan Armed Forces are ready for any situation.

Rocket attack on Presidential palace during Ghani’s speech
Several rockets landed Tuesday in the Afghan capital during the speech by President Ashraf Ghani marking the start of the holiday of Eid ul Adha.

As per Afghan media, the rockets, fired at around 8:00 am (0330 GMT), were heard across the heavily fortified Green Zone that houses the presidential palace and several embassies, including the US mission.

Afghan media confirmed that the rockets were fired from district Parwan of the country, which landed Baghi Ali Mardan and Chaman-e-Huzoori, both the areas are closed to the Afghan presidential palace.
Initially, no group claimed responsibility for the attack, whereas security has been beefed up in Kabul and the movement of the people has been restricted.

Rockets have been aimed at the palace several times in the past, the last being in December.

Earlier this week, the delegations from the Afghan government and the Taliban had said in a joint statement on Sunday that they will meet again and plan to expedite peace negotiations after two-days talks in Doha.

The negotiators from the rival sides had said the two sides committed to continue negotiations at a high level until a settlement is reached and they would work to provide humanitarian assistance throughout Afghanistan, Al-Jazeera reported.
