PIA not to file appeal against EASA flight ban

PIA not to file appeal against EASA flight ban
The Pakistan International Airlines management has decided not to file an appeal against the European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s suspension of the PIA flights to and from the EU countries.

The PIA spokesperson said that the national flag carrier has prepared its appeal against the decision in light of the EASA Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft programme and will file at an appropriate time.

Following the closure of Pakistan International Airlines flights to Europe, the PIA administration has also decided to call back its employees deputed in Europe.

The staff deputed in Milan, Oslo, Copenhagen and Barcelona have been asked to return back Pakistan after the closure of flights. The move to ultimately benefit in bringing down the expenses of the Pakistan International Airlines, said the spokesperson.

European Union Aviation Safety Agency had suspended Pakistan International Airlines flight operations for Europe in June over safety concerns.

The EASA in a letter conveyed to the national flag carrier, said that they had suspended the Third Country Operator Authorisation to PIA after it failed to comply with the proposed corrective action plans.

It said that six findings were raised with the PIA officials during meetings in June and September 2019, out of which five of the action plans were implemented while one other concerning elements of a Safety Management Systems was not implemented.

The EASA, however, said that it could review any appeal from Pakistan over the matter while the suspension could also be extended for another three months if conditions set by them are not implemented.

Drinking green tea protects skin

Drinking Green tea boosts immune system
During the hot summer months, most of us automatically reach for a cold beverage to cool us down.

However, you may be surprised to learn that a cup of hot green tea may prove more refreshing. Don’t believe us? Here are 4 amazing reasons why you should reach for the green tea this Summer.

Drinking Green Tea Cools You Down

Drinking green tea during the summer really can help you cool down more than a cold drink will, and this is due to a number of different factors.

Green tea is unfermented and rarely oxidised, two things that have been shown to have a cooling effect on the body. What’s more, having a hot drink such as green tea also allows your body to relax and regulate its internal temperature, thereby making you feel less hot. The opposite of what you might expect.

Drinking Green Tea Protects Your Skin

We all know how important it is to protect our skin from harmful UV rays, and we should all be especially vigilant if we’re going to start seeing long, hot summers like this one more regularly. Fortunately, green tea contains catechins, a powerful antioxidant, that can absorb UV light and help improve the skin’s resistance to it.

Another welcome benefit of drinking green tea during the summer is that it can improve the elasticity and density of skin, which in turn can help reduce the risk of sun damage.

You would need to drink green tea on a regular basis to truly experience these benefits, but can you think of a more compelling reason to trade in your morning coffee for a refreshing cup of Jade Tips Green Tea?

Drinking Green Tea Boosts Your Immune System

Summer is usually a time when we enjoy being active more, however, sometimes the hot weather can cause disturbed sleep, loss of appetite, and even a weakened immune system. The high content of vitamins and minerals found in various green teas can help give your immune system a much-needed boost, which is aided even further when consumed warm as this helps your body to absorb nutrients while promoting healthy circulation.

Drinking Green Tea Aids Weight Loss

Many of us wish to look our best for summer and it just so happens that green tea is a well-known natural slimming aid. When consumed in conjunction with regular exercise, the flavonoids and caffeine in green tea help to promote healthy weight loss by encouraging the body to burn more fat during a workout.

While all varieties of green tea would provide this benefit, we could not recommend anything more highly than Japanese Matcha green tea to get the most out of your time at the gym. This is because when you drink Matcha tea, you actually consume the whole tea leaf and maximise your intake of all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients that it has to offer.

Another reason why drinking green tea before exercising may help you to lose weight is simply that it is a hot drink. This may go against what some people may have heard, as even we have heard it said that cool drinks such as iced water can help speed up metabolism.

Unfortunately, this actually has the opposite effect and it is warm drinks such as green tea that ensure your fat stores are used for energy.

Though drinking green tea brings many benefits, it is important to remember to consume it in moderation.

The ideal amount of green tea is 2 – 3 cups a day, within two hours after a meal to enhance your body’s ability to absorb iron. With that being said, hopefully you now see why we recommend drinking green tea as well as iced/ cold brew tea during the summer

NEPRA approved Rs0.86 per unit increase in power tariff

NEPRA fine of Rs200 million
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority on Tuesday approved Rs0.86 per unit increase in power tariff on account of fuel cost adjustment of electricity.

The fuel adjustment charges for the month of July would be charged in consumer bills in next month.

The power regulator gave its approval after hearing a request by the Central Power Purchasing Agency that sought an increase of Rs0.86 in electricity rates.

This tariff hike will put an additional burden of Rs10 billion on power consumers.

National Electric Power Regulatory Authority yesterday had imposed a fine of Rs200 million on K-Electric over excessive load shedding in Karachi.

The fine was imposed against the K-Electric for excessive load shedding during the month of June and July this year.

The K-Electric slapped with the fine for violating NEPRA Act, terms and conditions of its license and directions given by the Authority in its multi-year tariff.

Israel deal 'betrayal' of Islamic world by UAE: Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
The United Arab Emirates has betrayed the Islamic world and the Palestinians by reaching a deal toward normalising ties with Israel, Iran’s top authority Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in a speech on Tuesday.

“Of course, the UAE’s betrayal will not last long, but this stigma will always be remembered. They allowed the Zionist regime to enter the region and forgot Palestine,” Khamenei said.

“The Emiratis will be disgraced forever ... I hope they wake up and compensate for what they did.”

Iranian authorities have harshly criticised the U.S.- brokered deal between the UAE and Tehran’s longtime foe Israel, with some officials warning that the UAE and Israel cosying up to one another risks conflagration in the Middle East.

Israel and the UAE expect economic benefits from the deal, the first such accommodation between an Arab country and Israel in more than 20 years, which was forged largely through shared fears of Iran. It has dismayed Palestinian leaders, however, who believe it further erodes their struggle for an independent state.
