NASA predicts asteroid is headed for Earth

The flying space object is 6.5 feet in diameter
An asteroid is projected to come close to Earth later this year and may hit one day before the US presidential election in November, according to NASA data.

The celestial object, known as 2018VP1, is expected to pass near Earth on Nov 2, according to the Center for Near Objects Studies at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

The flying space object is 6.5 feet in diameter, according to NASA data, and first identified at the Palomar Observatory in California two years ago.

The space agency says there were three potential impacts “based on 21 observations spanning 12.968 days, with the chance of a direct impact less than 1 per cent.”

The agency has determined the asteroid probably won’t have a deep impact, let alone wipe out the planet.

England's Crawley, Buttler, Anderson heap misery on Pakistan

Anderson then took three wickets as Pakistan crumbled to 24
Zak Crawley and Jos Buttler shared a record partnership and James Anderson grabbed three wickets to put England in total control at the close on the second day of the third and final Test against Pakistan on Saturday.

Crawley, 22, became the third-youngest England player to make a double century and went on to 267 before the hosts declared their first innings on 583 for eight in Southampton.

Anderson then took three wickets as Pakistan crumbled to 24 for three in reply, leaving England in prime position to win the match and clinch the series 2-0.

Crawley and Buttler (152) negotiated the second new ball in the morning session and went on to add 359 runs, surpassing England's previous record fifth-wicket stand of 254 shared by Keith Fletcher and Tony Greig against India in 1973.

Chris Woakes, Dom Bess and Stuart Broad added another 82 runs to help England post their highest total in four years.

Pakistan lost openers Shan Masood and Abid Ali along with Babar Azam in just under 11 overs.

Anderson claimed all three wickets and is only four short of becoming the first pace bowler to reach the milestone of 600 in Tests.

Pakistan need a victory to level the series after England won the opening match in Manchester by three wickets, and the rain-hit second game ended in a draw.

NAB to approach court to bring back Nawaz Sharif

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will approach an accountability court to declare former prime minister Nawaz Sharif a proclaimed offender in a reference accusing him of receiving luxury vehicles and gifts from Toshakhana.

Sources privy to the development said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will file an appeal in accountability court to declare Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif proclaimed offender in Toshakhana case.

The anti-graft body has also decided to inform the IHC that PML-N supremo is absconding. The bureau will file an appeal in Islamabad High Court (IHC) for implementation on Nawaz’s sentence in Al Azizia reference, said NAB sources.

The NAB said that the bail granted to the former premier has become ineffective, and he was apparently an absconder now.

Sources further said that the anti-corruption watchdog will approach the British government through Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), for the deportation of former prime minister.

It is pertinent to mention here that Nawaz Sharif is currently in London for treatment after having been granted bail on medical grounds.

The accountability court of Islamabad had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Sharif over his failure to attend the trial proceeding in Toshakhana case and had also initiated the process to declare him a proclaimed offender.

Federal Minister for Information Senator Shibli Faraz yesterday said that government will bring back former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan.

Shibli Faraz, while addressing a press conference in Islamabad today, said that Nawaz Sharif had departed to London for six months by presenting an excuse for his precarious health conditions, however, he neither undergoes any medical test nor sends his health reports sought by the Punjab government.
